Hi Sam,

How are you? Im on holiday at the moment. I am visiting New York with my friend, Kamal! Its my first time here and its amazing! The city is so big and there is a lot to see. We arrived two days ago, and I love it here. There is so much to do in the city.

Our hotel is in the centre, so we can walk everywhere. Thats great! I have a single room and Kamal has a room on the floor above me. The hotel is okay, but my room is small and there isnt much light. Hotel rooms are quite expensive here, I think.

We went shopping yesterday. Kamal bought lots of presents for his family. He enjoys shopping but I dont like it so much. It makes me quite tired. We also met Kamals friend, Scott. He works in a shoe shop. We ate lunch together – the food here is delicious!

We have lots more things we want to do. We are going to do some things alone. For example, tomorrow I am going to go to the museums for the day and Kamal is going to do more shopping. This is perfect because we can meet for dinner and talk about what we did. Then were going to a sports game!

We are going to come back on Tuesday. Would you like to have dinner with me next weekend? I know you plan to visit the United States, and I can tell you a little bit about it. There are some photos with this email so you can see a little bit what New York is like!
